Valentine's Day Gift Ideas...

Last year, on V-Day, my boyfriend bought me a $200 worth of lingerie, $100 worth of flowers, drew a bath for me with candles and tons of chocolate. He was really into gifts, which I gladly accepted, but thats not what Valentines Day should be about. It should be about the two of you spending quality time together and doing something fun, yet romantic.

With the economy so bad, these are some better ways to spend your evening together:

-order chinese food in and sit in your pajamas and eat over candle light, use the fancy dishes/china
-write 50 reasons why "I love you" and read it out loud to them over dinner
-go to the movies and share a drink and popcorn
-go to the airport, park your car in a nearby field, lay a blanket on your carhood and watch the planes come in and take off at night
-make dinner and have a floor picnic, build a fire
-grill out and share a bottle of wine
-buy your significant other and yourself matching silly valentines day underware
-make chocolate fondue
-take a walk together and hold hands
-make a pot of homemade soup that cooks all day, enjoy it while watching a movie
-give each other massages
-knit him a scarf
-make a scrapbook of your lives together so far

There are tons of ways to celebrate the occassion without blowing your budget or going over the top. Remember, its not about the price tag, its about the time together.
